Malin

Malin came to my first studio in 2021 and I remember when I met her she was terrified. When she showed up she was shy and quiet. As she sat down for hair and makeup, I started asking her about herself – trying to learn a little about her journey and what led her to me. She slowly started opening up and giving me a glimpse into her life. She had tragically lost her husband the year prior, and just now was starting to rebuild herself again. She was young – just in her early 30’s. I couldn’t even imagine. Right away I felt the pressure to provide her with a mind blowing experience that she would never forget.

As she wrapped up with hair and makeup, she looked at herself in the mirror and got emotional seeing the glammed up woman staring back at her. Here began her transformation. We picked out a few outfits, she stuck with pretty “safe” options meaning not super revealing. Her first outfit was a white button down mens shirt. She started to get comfortable and even laughed throughout her session. I felt her walls coming down and she really opened up to her experience.

Every sneak peek I showed her from the back of the camera completely blew her mind. With ever preview, she became more confident, more comfortable, and really found this inner peace. There was a significant shift. As her session started to come to an end, she decided she wanted to do some poses just wrapped in a sheet and man were they amazing! When it was time for her reveal she couldn’t even believe these images were her. She was shocked to say the least. Absolutely speechless.

A few months later Malin reached out about booking another session. I was so excited and honored she felt comfortable enough to come back. Seeing her walk back into my studio, even the makeup artist could see the difference in her. She was lighter. She looked free. Her smile was beaming.

Since then, Malin has come back and had so many sessions with me! Between themed mini sessions and regular sessions (usually for her birthday), every session she opens up more and more. I make sure each session is completely different from the one before. Experiencing her first session when she walked in completely petrified and witnessing the last session we had together, it is clear that her confidence and self love has grown tremendously.
